Tight End University (TEU) returned for its fifth season, held from June 23 to June 26. It took place at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, with founders George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Greg Olsen also hosting.

TEU is a camp that showcases the premier NFL tight ends in the league. The Arizona Cardinals had three star tight ends on their team in Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins, and Tip Reiman.

How these 3 Arizona Cardinals' players impressed at TEU?

How TEU works

TEU's objective is to guide these players to improve their skills and become even better contributors to the game. It was created to bring the tight end community together for an immersive three-day program, according to their website.

The three-day experience also offers the attendees the chance to learn from some of the greatest NFL tight ends who have ever played. Super Bowl-winning tight end Rob Gronkowski was one of the spotlighted guests.

Last year, TEU took in more than $900,000 for many charitable causes.

Arizona Cardinals players who attended

Trey McBride is coming off his inaugural Pro Bowl season after posting 111 receptions for 1,146 yards last year. His achievements led to a record second contract, and he is gunning to be one of the best tight ends in today's NFL.

McBride was a pass-catching guru last year. This year, he's projected to have at least 85 receptions and at most 110, while being projected to have a total of 95. He was just five catches away from tying Zach Ertz's 116 catches in 2018, from the single-season record. His 111 grabs were fourth-most in one season (and McBride missed a game.)

Elijah Higgins is now in year three and has seen his performance improve from his first to second year. The Cards are counting on giving Higgins more targets in the offense, and are pleased with the performance he has delivered in his present role.

Higgins last year had 20 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns. He started six times while active in all 17 games and also played 411 offensive snaps and 176 on special teams.

The Cardinals seem to be all set with their tight end position for 2025. Higgins jells very well with McBride and Reiman. With all the refinements he's made as a blocker and pass catcher, he should be able to maintain all the same responsibilities as he did last season.

Tip Reiman was drafted in the third round last year and had a few bright spots. He caught six of his seven targets for 37 yards throughout 2024. He started nine games while active in all 17 as a rookie. He also played 450 offensive snaps and 189 on special teams.

As the Cards' number three tight end, it was expected for him to have a smaller role behind Higgins and McBride on the depth chart.

For a while now, the Cards have yet to have tremendous accomplishments at the tight end position. That's why they're hoping McBride will be the pioneer to help mold the position into one of the team's best.
