Cardinals News and Notes

So I hear that Arizona Cardinals DT Dan Williams is going to be held out of Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers because of his weight?  Say what?  Listen, I'm a pretty big guy, but I'm not getting paid millions of dollars to play football.  If my employer paid me as much as he gets paid, I would be doing everything in my power to ensure I made weight.  I'm fairly certain this will be a wake up call for Williams.

Wide receiver Stephen Williams has officially been named the number two receiver for Sunday's game.  No real shock there.  I think the biggest shock will come when Sunday comes around and this really didn't turn out as bad as people thought.  Now that may because they ran the ball 90% of the time, but we'll see.

A couple of days ago coach Ken Whisenhunt said the game plan for San Diego didn't change because of injuries.  As much as the passing game has struggled, he may just be giving it to us straight.  This could be the week the Cardinals were going to look to find consistency between that balance of run and pass.  They had perfect balance against the Oakland Raiders last Sunday.

This is the 12th all-time game between the Cards and Chargers.  It will be the first in the Ken Whisenhunt era.
