Rookie fourth round draft pick Logan Thomas had his first NFL training camp day and he had some good moments potential wise and of course some rookie like moments as well. Coming in it was already noted that Thomas was having accuracy issues and that was on display today but not in the way the critics thought. The miscommunications between him and his receivers were a clear case of learning both the playbook and his receivers.
Few things just stood out about this kid after seeing him actually on the field in action, first the guy is a big boy, and has a gun for an arm. When he hit his receivers accurately a loud thump would sound off in the stadium as he is drilling the ball into guys chests.
There is a very long way to go as Head Coach Bruce Arians was seen on several occasions mentoring the young quarterback after his mishaps on the field, in some cases his receivers would go one way and the ball the other, and that is to be expected.
There is enough seen in this kid to know that there is no way the team will cut him after being a fourth round pick, a pick that was made specifically by the head coach as his own project. So there really is not a battle for number three, its Thomas learning and Ryan Lindley putting on a display for the leagues other teams.
