  • The Cardinals currently have Troy Niklas under contract but has been a bust. The Cardinals have also Hakeem Valles and Ifeanyi Momah. Currently, both of their quality tight ends have become free agents, Jermaine Gresham and Darren Fells. Gresham’s experience may cause him to be too expensive for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals currently have $32-35 million in cap space. The Cardinals hole in the tight end position will be a focal point at the upcoming draft. However, they must also address holes at other important positions including: linebacker, cornerback, wide receiver, quarterback or safety. ESPN has suggested that the Cardinals pick up free agent tight end Martellus Bennett.

Bennett is hands-down one of the best blocking tight ends in the league. He is also a strong receiving option for the Cardinals offense. The Cardinals  could also pick up a player who is on the rebound and looking for a one year deal, which could end up helping the Cardinals as they attempt to reach the Super Bowl. However, this is only a temporary solution.

The best pick for TE up for grabs is OJ Howard. He is the best prospect come out in a long time. He’s also someone that could come in and take over much of the work that Fitz does in Bruce Arians system in the future. He’s a guy you would probably play in more of a similar role to Jordan Reed, line’s up outside a fair amount but can also sit in and block if needed.
