Well, many of you have had a chance to read some of the articles about the wonderful ladies in red from our resident cheerleader alum Bari. She’s told you about Cheerleader’s training camp, game day preparation, the upcoming Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader calendar , and also told you how being a cheerleader is not a full time job, but being a parent is.
As many of you may remember, my wife and I became proud parents of a wonderful baby boy, AJ Duggan, born on July 1st. Now we are quickly learning that just one child can be overwhelming at times, and we are able to deal with it much better when we have eachother to lean on. On that note, I would like you to meet Dawn Gilbert (pictured right). She is a single mom raising two kids, working a full time job as a bank manager, and is an eight year veteran of the AZ Cards Cheerleading squad who has recently retired.
I was raised by a single mother along with my brother Tom, so I have seen first hand how hard it can be for any parent to try to be in twenty different places at once.
Dawn was recently interviewed by the online magazine- mycrewmagazine.com – and asked to tell her story about how she is able to manage such a busy, hectic schedule while supporting her Cardinals, being there for her kids, and everything else in between.
Click here to read her inspiring story, I hope it reminds you of similar people in your own life who, like Dawn, work twice as hard for the people and things in their lives that they love.
