The Cardinals head north to face the Vikings in a matchup, on paper, looks even. However, few odds makers, fans, and media alike, give the Cards a chance to beat the Vikings in Minnesota on Sunday and why should they? The Cards have never fared well on the road against the Vikings.
The Cards start Derek Anderson at quarterback. He is probably the lesser of the two evils that are him and rookie Max Hall given the environment they will be in on Sunday. Anderson give the Cards a better chance to win in the Metrodome. You saw what happened to Hall a couple of weeks ago in a hostile environment in Seattle. Like it or not, Anderson is your guy this week.
His counterpart? That's Brett Favre. You might have heard of him. He may have been in the news a time or two this season. Yeah, he has. It's mostly for all the wrong reasons though. That being said, Favre can still beat you with the long ball and boy do the Cards know how to give up the long ball for a touchdown. He may be without the services of receiver Percy Harvin though. he is listed as questionable thanks to an injured ankle.
Cards receiver Larry Fitzgerald returns home. He had a huge game in 2006, his last visit home to play the Vikings, albeit in a losing cause. With a healthy Steve Breaston and Early Doucet in the fold, look for another big game from Fitz. He finally started to get going last week with two touchdown receptions.
In the end though, it will be too much for the Cards. Despite the Vikings struggles on defense this season (Jared Allen hasn't had a sack in the last five games), they should prevail on Sunday. Minnesota 34 Arizona 20
