Arizona Cardinals Schedule: Balanced, Manageable

Well, the Arizona Cardinals 2012 schedule has been released, and the best way I can describe it is very balanced.

The Cardinals play no more than two consecutive games at home or away.  They play each of their three divisional opponents once in the first half of the season and once in the second half of the season.   And even their bye week is right in the middle of the season.

They play one Thursday night game, one Monday night game, and all other games are scheduled on Sunday.

I do think it’s important for the Cardinals to get off to a good start this coming year, unlike last year.  Three of their first four games are being played at home.   They end the season with a game against the San Francisco 49ers … wouldn’t it be nice if a victory in this game vaults them into the playoffs, or even into a divisional championship!

In terms of opponents, the schedule also seems balanced and manageable, with a few tough games and a few easy ones.  But that’s on paper.  The Cardinals will still have to come out each week and play hard, regardless of who their opponent might be.

Right now, I’m just happy to see a real schedule that I can get excited about it!
