Rookie receiver John Brown makes the big time after just nine NFL games in appearing on this weeks Sports Illustrated cover
When you are on the cover of a magazine like Sports Illustrated, you know you’ve made it in the sports world. For Arizona Cardinals rookie receiver John Brown, that only took nine weeks. How could you argue that point though? The kid is exciting to watch.

John Brown is having a very nice season. He has 29 receptions for 399 yards and five touchdowns. He has a 75-yard touchdown and a 48-yard touchdown. Both plays he blew past the opposition. He has great hands and great focus.
The 75-yard play against the Philadelphia Eagles, it had appeared that quarterback Carson Palmer had overthrown the ball but John “Smokey” Brown was there right under the ball for the winning touchdown. The 48-yard touchdown this past weekend against the St. Louis Rams was on the money by quarterback Drew Stanton but Brown didn’t miss a stride.
The most exciting thing might not even be the score itself with him but his celebration dance afterwards. I don’t know what it is or how to even describe it. If you don’t know what it looks like well, you’re in luck. Here you go.
Of the five touchdowns John Brown has scored this season, three of them have been thrown by Stanton. I think those two will get along just fine. He will be something special for years to come. From Pittsburg State to Arizona. It’s a beautiful story that continues to evolve from week to week. I can’t wait to see what he does next.
