As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player. I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.
We go from A to Z and continue with ILB Glenn Carson. Carson is entering his second season with the Cardinals out of Penn State.

2014 season: Carson was an undrafted free agent who made the final 53 man roster out of his first training camp last season, played sparingly off and on in 2014. He was inactive most weeks but did see action in five games. He ended up with seven tackles on the season.
2015 season projection: Linebacker is still one of those positions you never know what’s going to happen until the final cuts are made and even then don’t be so sure the guy that makes it last long. The was the position Carson was in last season and look for the situation to be about the same in this year’s camp. It was his final preseason game in 2014 that convinced the Cardinals to give him a shot on the regular season roster. It probably comes down again to the last couple of roster spots to determine if he has done enough to make it. I think it’s real close based on current personnel.
Coach Arians has said he likes guys that can hit and Carson can definitely hit but is that enough to crack this roster? The Cardinals have been thin at linebacker but seem to have tried to help that issue. Daryl Sharpton is in the mix this season and that could mean less time for Carson.
