Arizona Cardinals: Fantasy Starters for Week 4

Here we take a look at the Cardinals players you should consider starting this week in fantasy football.

The Arizona Cardinals hit the road to take on an under performing and dejected Detroit Lions team at Ford Field. With the Detroit Lions defense not being what it used to be it should be a fruitful day to start any Arizona Cardinals players on your fantasy squad. Who are the players that are expected to have good fantasy outputs? Let’s find out!

Carson Palmer, Quarterback

I sound like a broken record by suggesting the same players every week (spoiler: there’s more familar names on this list), this week is no different, Carson Palmer had a less than desirable fantasy output last week as he threw for 352 yards and 1 touchdown to go along with 1 interception. Expect way more touchdowns from Palmer this week against a porous Lions defense. With the return of Ellington, there’s one more weapon for Palmer to throw to, in an offense that only saw the end zone once last week. Pencil Palmer down for 3 touchdowns and 300+ yards passing in a game that could potentially turn into a shoot out.

Larry Fitzgerald, Wide Receiver

It has been a pleasant surprise to see Fitzgerald enjoy a career rebirth like he has so far this year. While he didn’t see the end zone in last week’s loss to the Rams he still caught the ball 7 times for 99 yards. Against an unimpressive Lions secondary, expect Palmer to connect with Fitzgerald early and often for a 2 touchdowns and Fitzgerald’s third 100 yard receiving game of the season.

Chandler Catanzaro, Kicker

We have a new name on the list! The Cat Man has been very consistent so far this season (much better than his preseason showing). He has connected on all 7 of his field goals attempts this season, 5 of which came last week against the St. Louis Rams. In what should be an offensive showing for the Arizona Cardinals, Catanzaro should be good for 2-4 field goals, and 4 extra points.

Chris Johnson, Running Back

While week 1 starter Andre Ellington is set to return against the Lions, Chris Johnson will still be getting most of the carries. In the three games Ellington has missed, Johnson has accumulated 265 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 58 carries. What has been most impressive so far is that Johnson still ran for 83 yards against a staunch Rams defensive front. With visiting a weak Lions defensive line, Johnson could ran for anywhere between 75+ rushing yards to go along with a receiving touchdown (you read that right! Receiving touchdown!).

With the Arizona Cardinals looking to get back on a winning track and will do everything offensively (and defensively) to make things difficult for the Detroit Lions, which makes this game a fantasy feast for Cardinals owners.
