The wide receivers should be gunning right out of the gates, especially as the team only scored one touchdown against the Rams last week. Larry Fitzgerald will be a tough match up for the Lions’ secondary and will give them nightmares throughout the game. With Fitzgerald and Floyd occupying a majority of the secondary’s attention expect John Brown to slip through the cracks with a few big catches.

The Arizona Cardinals defense will be getting a dejected, under performing Lions offense on a short week. Matthew Stafford has been underwhelming so far this season and has only thrown 5 touchdown passes to go along with 5 interceptions. If the Cardinals defensive line can give him headaches all game it will be very difficult for the Lions ti win this game, especially due to the Lions not having a rushing game.

The biggest key for the Cardinals secondary is their ability to cover Lions receivers Golden Tate and Calvin Johnson. While Johnson has somewhat regressed this season it’s still possible that he can go off. Detroit is expected to be throwing for most of the game and that will provide many opportunities for Peterson, Mathieu and co. to pick off Stafford or at least make him hesitate to make throws and force him to check down to the running  back.

Odds:

Arizona -3

O/U 45

Prediction:

The Detroit Lions have been under performing so far this season and are looking to end their losing streak, I don’t expect that to happen against an Arizona Cardinals that is looking to get back to its winning ways after a tough loss to a hot and cold St. Louis Rams squad. With Matthew Stafford being pressured by the defense all game and Carson Palmer looking the best he has in recent years, it will be another tough day for the Lions. Cardinals 27 Lions 13
