The Arizona Cardinals face the Pittsburgh Steelers at 10:00 a.m. at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh
The Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers have both announced their inactives for this morning’s game at Heinz Field. The Cardinals inactives are basically the same guys you should be used to seeing inactive by now.
As for the Steelers, they will be missing a couple of huge names. First and foremost the Steelers will once again be without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. He started practicing this past week however his return will still be week seven at the earliest.
Cardinals inactives:
QB Matt Barkley, NT Xavier Williams, LB Shaq Riddick, WR J.J. Nelson, G Earl Watford, LB Alex Okafor, T D.J. Humphries
The two names that stand out here are Watford and Okafor. Watford played well early on but other injured players such as Mike Iupati returned, making for some tough decisions on the offensive line each week when it comes to active vs. inactive. Ted Larsen will be active on Sunday in Watford’s place.
Also you’ll notice that Okafor is on the inactive list as well. This beats the alternative. Some feared he could be out for the season after he left Detroit for Arizona and an MRI last week. As it stands now, the team expects him to miss 2-4 weeks.
Steelers inactives:
QB Ben Roethlisberger, S Will Allen, LB Ryan Shazier, G Chris Hubbard, TE Jesse James, LB Jarvis Jones, CB Cortez Allen
Aside from Big Ben, Jarvis Jones is a big loss for the Steelers. However according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, this likely means more reps for rookie Bud Dupree, a player the Cardinals highly coveted in the 2015 NFL Draft.
