Arizona Cardinals: Fantasy starters for Week 8
Here we take a look at the Cardinals players you should highly consider starting this week in fantasy football.
The Arizona Cardinals are back on the road this week facing the Cleveland Browns who are coming off of a loss against an inconsistent St. Louis Rams squad. The Browns defense has under performed this season, and it should be a prime day for you to start your favorite Arizona Cardinals players. Who are the players that are expected to have good fantasy outputs? Let’s find out!
Carson Palmer, Quarterback
You mostly drafted Palmer to be your back quarterback who you’d put in your line up during your starter’s bye week. Well now he’s your starter and he should be again this week against a bad Browns defense. Palmer is tied for second in the league with touchdown passes at 16, but should close the gap between him and Brady by the end of this game. Joe Haden is returning to the Browns defense after missing the last 2 weeks with the lingering effects of a concussion. Palmer should target Haden early and often on his way to a great fantasy day. Pencil Palmer down for 300+ yards passing and 3 touchdown passes.
Chris Johnson, Running Back
Johnson you most likely drafted in the later rounds or picked up off of waivers because of name value. You sir, or ma’am, are a genius. Johnson is second in the league for total rushing yards with 567 yards, and is undoubtedly the Cardinals lead back at 30 years old. Heading into this week, the Browns have the league’s worst run defense, and you know what that means. Johnson should have his best day as an Arizona Cardinals and should start making his case for the Pro Bowl. Johnson should have a big day to the tune of 100+ rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.
Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown, Michael Floyd, Wide Receivers
I have decided to include the top 3 Cardinal receivers together in one section because of their big play ability and how productive they have been this season. Due to how suspect the Browns defense and secondary is as a whole you should have no doubts inserting Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd or John Brown into your starting lineups. But keep in the mind that John Brown will be a game time decision, but that should not stop you from starting him, I know I will. In a pick em, expect Fitzgerald, Floyd or Brown to have 70+ receiving yards and 2-3 touchdown receptions.

Arizona Cardinals Defense/Special Teams
Josh McCown starting for the Browns after suffering a shoulder injury last week? Don’t mind if I do. With McCown expected to start this week while nursing a sore shoulder, the Cardinal defense should be licking their chops. The Cleveland offense line has had trouble protecting McCown this season and should have even more trouble against the Arizona defensive front. With the pass rush expected to put pressure on McCown the whole game, expect the former Arizona Cardinals gunslinger to get confused and throw passes to his former team. The third ranked fantasy defense that is the Cardinals should fetch you 3+ turnovers, and points for allowing less than 20 points.
Go set those lineups!
