1. Patrick Peterson, Cornerback, 2011

In addition to being the Cardinals best first round pick since 2010, cornerback Patrick Peterson is also one of the best draft picks in franchise history. He is a shut down corner, and is often regarded as the best cornerback in the entire league.

A vocal leader of the Arizona defense, Peterson has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons, and has been named an AP first team All-Pro 3 times. He is the definition of durable and has started every game for the Cardinals since 2011.

In these games, Peterson has 246 tackles, 2 sacks, 17 interceptions, 1647 return yards and 6 total touchdowns to his name.

After battling diabetes in 2014, Peterson returned as a much improved player in 2015. Over the first 13 games of the season, Peterson only allowed one touchdown and just 48% of passes thrown in his direction were caught.

Peterson has the Cardinals defense in a great place, and is one the best players in the league which is why he ranks #1 on this list.
