2. Chris Culliver – Cornerback

While I’m writing this article, someone goes ahead and snags Chris Culliver, in which it’s not anything less then deserved. At least for training camp, if he doesn’t deserve the roster spot in favor of youth (for the Cardinals), then I would understand. The fact that no one has offered him a contract to this point is baffling.

Last season, Chris Culliver went through a rough patch with his new team, the Washington Redskins, as he was unable to record an interception. Although, he was suspended week 2, and tore his ACL and MCL in November.  Not to mention, Culliver also dealt with injuries from week 5-7. I don’t know if he got a fair shake. Do the Arizona Cardinals really need to take a chance on an oft-injured corner?

I’ve already said it a few times, if I were Bruce Arians and Steve Keim, the current corps has raw talent, they don’t need a corner. It’s not necessary to sign someone, but I wouldn’t mind having a veteran in camp who can push Justin Bethel in competition.

Culliver, in 2014, intercepted 4 passes, he does have some playmaking abilities, quite honestly, the Cardinals just need someone who can man-cover for 5-6 seconds until Chandler Jones, Calais Campbell, Markus Golden, or Robert Nkemdiche gets to the quarterback. Why not?

Estimated contract: 1 year, $1.5M

Next: Wait, why?
