Arizona Cardinals Top 3 fantasy starters for Week 3
Which Arizona Cardinals should you start in their Week 3 match up against the Buffalo Bills?
The Cardinals will be playing on the road for the first time as they are hosted by the struggling Buffalo Bills. The New York Jets had a field day against the Bills last week, and the Cardinals should be looking to do the same. Let’s take a look at the top 3 Cardinals that you need to have in your lineup for this week.
David Johnson, Running back
Last week: 45 rushing yards, 3 catches, 98 receiving yards.
While Johnson didn’t reach the end zone last week, he still a must start this week. While the Bills have only allowed 3.2 yards per carry through 2 weeks, Johnson has shown the ability to break tackles for large gains.
Johnson also has 141 receiving yards to his name. Proving he is just as potent through the air as he is on the ground. Jets running back Matt Forte put together a 100 yards rushing, and 3 touchdown game against the Bills last week.
Given the similarities between the playing styles of Forte and Johnson, it make sense to continue with Johnson as your guy.
Predicted stats: 65+ rushing yards, 7 catches, 100+ receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdowns.
Carson Palmer, Quarterback
Last week: 17-30, 304 passing yards, 3 touchdown passes
Palmer has put together a solid 2016 campaign as he has managed to throw for 575 yards and 5 touchdowns with no interceptions. The veteran led the Cardinals offense to scores on 6 of the team’s 12 offensive possessions.
Aided with Larry Fitzgerald’s dominance and Jaron Brown’s consistency and the Bills struggling secondary, Palmer has the right combination to have a good fantasy day. Palmer will not have a problem dissecting a defense that allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw for 374 yards and 1 touchdown..
Predicted stats: 350+ passing yards, 3+ passing touchdowns
Larry Fitzgerald, Wide receiver
Last week: 5 receptions, 77 yards, 1 touchdowns
Larry Fitzgerald has proven that he’s still got as he is off to a fast start to the season. With Michael Floyd and John Brown still trying to find their roles in the offense, Fitzgerald has shined. With Bills cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore and Ronald Darby struggling to stick to receivers, Fitzgerald will continue his dominant start.
Predicted stats: 6+ catches, 85+ receiving yards, 1+ receiving touchdowns
Honorable Mention:
Arizona Cardinals Defense/Special teams:
The Bills fired their offensive coordinator, and will most likely stick to a basic game plan focused on the run. In addition, a hobbled Sammy Watkins only complicates things for quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
