Which Arizona Cardinals should you start in their Week 6 match up against the New York Jets?

The Arizona Cardinals return home to host the New York Jets in their second nationally televised game in a row. Quarterback Carson Palmer will make his return for the Cardinals after suffering a concussion in Week 5. Meanwhile. the Jets are struggling on all sides of the ball and are in desperate need of a win.

Let’s take a look at the top 3 Cardinals that you need to have in your lineup for this week.

David Johnson, Running back

Last week: 157 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 3 receptions, 28 receiving yards.

Realistically, the only time David Johnson won’t be on this list is during Week 9 when the Cardinals are on a bye. Johnson leads the league in total yards from scrimmages and looks to add onto his total against the Jets.

While the Jets defense ranks second overall against the run, Johnson is still valuable as a passing threat. Having Carson Palmer under center only helps his chances of having an aerial impact.

Predicted stats: 75+ rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 5+ receptions, 50+ receiving yards.

Carson Palmer, Quarterback

Last week: N/A

After missing last week’s game with a concussion, Palmer is set to make his return Monday night. The Jets ranks 31st overall against the pass, and the Cardinals are a passing team. With all the weapons at Palmer’s disposal, and the Jets’ struggles on defense, this match up is too hard to pass up.

Predicted stats: 300+ passing yards, 2+ passing touchdowns.

Arizona Cardinals, Defense/special teams

Last week: 2 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, 1 safety, 7 sacks, 286 yards allowed, 21 points allowed.

Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick leads the league in interceptions with 10. Meanwhile, the Cardinals defense is tied for first in turnovers with 12. You can see where this is going.

The Cardinals defense will be looking for the same results they had last week against an inept Jets offense. With former defense coordinator Todd Bowles on the opposing sidelines, the defense has added fuel to their fuel.

Predicted stats: 2+ interceptions, 3+ sacks. 200-299 yards allowed, 10-17 points allowed.
