Zay Jones is climbing up draft boards as the draft process moves along

A record-breaking receiver in college, Zay Jones has become a hot name in some circles. His big numbers gained him attention, but his talent has kept the eyes on him.

At 6’2″ and just over 200 pounds, he has good size for the position in the NFL. He also uses that size pretty well, showing an ability to shield defenders to make catches. He also plays tough, making tough catches in traffic. As his record setting 399 career receptions shows, he has excellent hands, and he moves well once he has the ball.

His big numbers could be misleading, and questions about his level of competition. Also notable, is that he caught a lot of short passes that may have made his raw numbers look better than they were. His 40 yard dash time will be closely watched at the combine, as he’ll need to show he can take the top off of defenses.

Jones’ speed questions will need to be answered before the Cardinals would consider him. If he tests well, though, he could be a strong target on day two. Arizona needs an influx of talent at the wide receiver position, and Jones is certainly talented.
