Josh Jones made a name for himself with a solid Combine workout

Going into today’s workouts, Josh Jones wasn’t a well known player. The North Carolina State safety certainly wasn’t being mentioned as an early round selection. After today, scouts and analysts will be going to watch some tape on him.

More from Raising Zona

Jones is a little over 6’1″ and weighed in at 220 pounds. Last season, he was his team’s leading tackler, and added three interceptions. He consistently showed himself to be a good, hard-hitting tackler, but with solid ball skills. He also has plenty of starting experience, which helps.

Jones ran a blazing 40 yard dash, at 4.41 seconds. His 37 inch vertical jump and 11 foot broad jump were both impressive as well. His athletic profile was boosted immensely today, and NFL teams will take a closer look at his tape. He could wind up being a solid mid-round pick for Arizona in the draft.
