Manti Te’o could fit in Kevin Minter’s former spot at linebacker

Kevin Minter has been a solid, though not spectacular, player for the Cardinals for the last four seasons, but is now testing free agency. A player like Manti Te’o could fill his spot adequately, and without breaking the bank.

Te’o was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in round two of the 2013 NFL Draft. They had high hopes for him, and he flashed talent, but like many others, injuries have marred his first four seasons. When he’s healthy, he’s a good player and could be a good replacement for Minter.

Due mostly to the injury history, Te’o hasn’t had a ton of interest, and could be signed to a deal for fairly cheap. There’s certainly risk involved, but a healthy Te’o would give the Cardinals a good tackling linebacker with upside.
