Special Teams Wrecked Us

This is the obvious issue we faced last year repeatedly on multiple occasions. Missed field goals, blocked punts, and a lot of headache. We lost multiple games last year due to special teams mistakes.

We arguably lost week one to the Patriots due to special teams, it just seemed like Chandler Catanzaro couldn’t get his head on right. We even had a head scratching tie due to a missed field, from basically the goal line.

We did end up addressing this issue by making a few changes. We ended up dropping Cat man and signing veteran kicker Phil Dawson. We also addressed the long snapping situation and added Richie Leone to address our punting issues.

I think we all can agree it’d be hard to do much worse on special teams than the Cardinals did last year. These improvement genuinely should fix a lot of the issues. Bruce Arians even has Patrick Peterson exclusively on punt returns until he feels comfortable with someone else stepping up to fill that role. We just have to trust in the process right now.
