The Positive Takeaways and Moving Forward

So on a lighter note, there’s definitely some positives and good that came from this past season. People tend to look at our 7-8-1 record and chuckle, but they might not realize we went 4-1-1 in divisional games. We easily could’ve went 5-1 if not for our special teams, but nonetheless, 4-1-1 is still rather impressive.

Now a MAJOR positive was the emergence of David Johnson’s dominance within this league. David Johnson rushed for 1,239 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also received 879 yards for 4 touchdowns, which put him at 2,118 total yards from scrimmage and 20 total touchdowns. Easily a sophomore season for the decades.

Lastly, Larry Fitzgerald and Carson Palmer will be returning for the 2017-2018 season. Larry had just come off a year where he led the league in receptions and Palmer didn’t have a horrific season either. Needless to say, we’d be screwed this year if they decided to hang up the pads this season.

Steve Kiem and Bruce Arians seem to have no backup plan for Carson, and have high aspirations for 3rd round selection Chad Williams to fill Larry’s role down the line. So imagine if they both decided to not return.. It honestly hurts to think about it. Thankful it didn’t happen and we have this guys for at least another season.
