Arizona Cardinals: The Importance of A Week 2 Victory

Arizona heads to Indianapolis to play the Colts 1pm est
The Arizona Cardinals will be traveling to Indianapolis to play the Colts this Sunday. After a disappointing season debut against the Lions, the Cardinals hope to redeem themselves this week. You could argue that the worst case scenario played out last Sunday as the Cardinals lost David Johnson to injury.
Johnson is expected to miss anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks with a dislocated wrist. He was a big piece in the offense, but as Bruce Arians has said.. “next man up”. That next man is Kerwynn Williams who was named the starter for week 2 a few days ago.
Cardinals also added Chris Johnson back to our depth chart for some depth at the position. Though the talk of the week has been mostly about Johnson and the running back group, the pressure is somewhere else. Carson Palmer will have to play exceptionally better than he did in week 1.

Palmer, who threw three interceptions against the Lions, will have to power up this passing attack. He will have to do this without deep threat John Brown. Brown was ruled out with an aggravated quad and won’t travel to Indianapolis with the team.
Chad Williams has been listed as ‘active’ this week and will get some valuable reps against a weak Colts secondary. Joining Williams will be J.J. Nelson, Jaron Brown, and Larry Fitzgerald to rally up this passing game.
Will Palmer and this receiver group have what is takes? We’re bound to see. Of course it’s evident we’re in trouble otherwise.
If the Cardinals go into Indianapolis and get beat by Brissett and the Colts, we’re in big trouble. For this reason Carson Palmer has the weight of the world of his shoulders. As a fellow Cardinals fan, I wouldn’t get too worried just yet.
