Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson showed a lot of frustration last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles

If you were watching the NFL Network’s Deion Sanders show “21st and Prime” this week, you may have seen him take notice of Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson. He made a rather interesting statement regarding him.

Sanders suggested that the Cardinals should trade Peterson.  Not only trade him but trade him to a contender like the Green Bay Packers.

It’s not going to happen.    Let me re-phrase, it won’t be happening anytime soon.  The Cardinals would be ridiculous to make such a move.

Sure, Peterson was seen frustrated on the sidelines in the Cardinals blow out loss to the Eagles on Sunday.  He seemed fine after the game though.

He was just venting what a lot of players and fans are feeling right now.  We are all passionate about the Cardinals.

Just because Sanders and Peterson are friends doesn’t mean Sanders should go on television and make such a suggestion.  Why doesn’t he suggest the Cowboys trade Dak Prescott to the Pittsburgh Steelers?  If we’re being honest here, the suggestion was on that same ridiculous level.

Imagine what the Cardinals would want in return?  Nothing that would benefit the Packers in the long term.  Sure in the short term, Peterson helps.

Peterson is still playing at a high level.  The Cardinals for that matter are still in contention.  It may not seem like it, but they are one game out of first place in the NFC West.

The NFC West may be won with just nine or 10 wins.  There is no need to make a move like that, at least not now.

Sanders job is to get ratings.  He may have done that.  However anyone that believes that the Cardinals and Packers could make sure a bold move, I’ve also got ocean front property in Arizona to sell you as well.
