The Arizona Cardinals are back on the playing field in three days against the San Francisco 49ers

Just when it looked like the injury situation was improving for the Arizona Cardinals, two days of practice and the injury list grows.  While two players did not practice on Wednesday, that increased to four players on Thursday.

Not practicing for the Cardinals on Thursday were receivers Chad Williams and Brittan Golden.  Both had been limited on Wednesday.  Williams is dealing with a back injury and Golden has a groin issue.

Also not practicing on Thursday was linebacker Karlos Dansby and center Daniel Munyer.  Munyer was a new addition to the list.  He is nursing a toe injury.

The one status improvement on Thursday over Wednesday was defensive tackle Frostee Rucker.  He did not practice on Wednesday but was limited on Thursday.

Running back Andre Ellington was limited again on Thursday.  However take that news with a grain of salt.  The Cardinals have been known to limit him in practice in the past as a precaution.

As for the San Francisco 49ers, the injury report continues to be an issue.  Eight of the nine players who didn’t practice on Wednesday had the same status on Thursday.

The only one returning was defensive end Elvis Dumervil.  His Wednesday absence was non-injury related.

The 49ers also had to place receiver Pierre Garcon on injured reserve on Thursday.  His neck injury has ended his 2017 season.

While the 49ers may be the walking wounded, the Cardinals certainly have their issues.  They will of course be playing their first game with Drew Stanton as their starting quarterback.

The good news for them is there is no John Brown, Jaron Brown, Adrian Peterson, Jermaine Gresham, Troy Niklas, J.J. Nelson, or Kerwynn Williams on the injury report.  They are also healthy on the offensive line.

If the Cardinals can get through Friday’s practice without any further injury, which should be easy given Friday practice’s are glorified walk-through’s, then they will at least go into San Francisco healed and well rested with most of their remaining weapons.
