Tough teams still on schedule

Certainly people have the right to be concerned about the Cardinals upcoming schedule over the last eight weeks.  This week they face a tough Seahawks team.

The Seahawks are coming off a loss at home to the Redskins.  It may end up being closer than you think.

However given the history, at least recent history, the Cardinals have not played well against the Seahawks at home.  They typically play them tougher in Seattle.

A lot of people have already pre-determined the outcome of this game because of the way they saw the 49ers game.  One doesn’t have anything to do with the other.

Every game presents matchups on its own merits.  Seattle is a much better team than the 49ers.  We all know that.  However just because the Cardinals won a 20-10 game in San Francisco does not mean it can be something completely different on Thursday.

Let’s just all hope it’s not another 6-6 tie.  Of course many in Seattle and Arizona this week probably are hoping it doesn’t come down to kickers.  Seahawks kicker Blair Walsh missed three field goals on Sunday and Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson missed his sixth field goal of the season against the 49ers.

More from Raising Zona

The Cardinals have a now beatable Houston Texans team on the road, then home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.  After that it is two more home games against the Rams and then the Tennessee Titans.

Each game will present its own unique challenges.  All ones that should be taken on a week by week basis.  No more celebrating the win from Sunday.

The Cardinals have already started to prepare for the Seahawks. They may come out and fall flat.  There is always that chance.  We’ve already seen those Cardinals a couple of times.

The key here is to start building wins.  It won’t be easy and the deck is stacked against them.  No argument here on that.  What I do know is the Cardinals aren’t going to lay over either.  They will compete and when that happens, you never know what the result may be.  Don’t give up, yet.
