Malcolm Butler

Certainly the Cardinals will be looking for additional help in the secondary.  They still need a permanent starter opposite Patrick Peterson.  Travon Williams played well in 2017 and could end up being the guy.

However Butler, who was the Super Bowl hero in 2015 and was a key member of the New England Patriots secondary for the last two seasons, is heading in the wrong direction.  Maybe a change of scenery would help him but there has to be more to his Super Bowl benching.

To be the starter all season and for the Patriots of all teams to say he wasn’t an option to play in the Super Bowl should speak volumes.  Sure, someone will give the guy a shot because of his past.

The Cardinals can’t afford to take a risk here.  Too long they have been searching for a guy that can hold his own opposite of Peterson.

We don’t know the whole story behind Butler’s absence from the Super Bowl but let’s not find out the reason why in Arizona.  Someone will give him a lot of money as well.
