Just four Arizona Cardinals players rank above 80 in the recent leak of Madden ’19 player ratings

A look at the ratings that leaked for Madden ’19 quickly proves that it is true, not many believe in the 2018 Arizona Cardinals.  We knew Vegas didn’t but now the popular video game agrees.

The Cardinals as a team had a second-worst rating of 73.  Only the New York Jet scored lower with a rating of 72.  On one hand there should be little surprise of this but on the other it is fairly disrespectful of the talent they have on the roster.

We get it though, the Cardinals have a lot to prove.  Still, just a notch above the Jets?  Even the Cleveland Browns had a higher rating at 74.  Something isn’t right there.

The Cardinals however do have four players that were rated above 80.  Cornerback Patrick Peterson was rated the highest at 93.  Running back David Johnson was the second-highest rated running back in the NFL at 92.

As for the other two above 80, defensive end Chandler Jones was an 87.  An 87 is a bit surprising given the guy only lead the league in sacks last season, a detail many people keep seeming to forget.

Then there is receiver Larry Fitzgerald.  He is an 85, which also is underrated.  He had 109 receptions in 2017 after 107 and leading the NFL in 2016.

Safety Antoine Bethea just missed an 80 rating with an overall rating of 79, which is higher than one might expect for the aging star.  Overall though, at team rating of 73 still seems low.

The Cardinals finished 8-8 last season and do have some roster turnover.  However the Cardinals have improved the offensive line and look to be stronger at running back.  Questions at quarterback certainly contribute.

This only means one thing.  The Cardinals may be able to sneak up on people this season.  Their schedule is relatively easier than last season.  If they stay healthy, then there’s a good chance Madden ’20 ratings will be much better.
