The entire Arizona Cardinals roster reports to training camp this Friday July 27th at University of Phoenix Stadium

If you are a rookie and you are on the 90-man camp roster for the Arizona Cardinals, your training camp and preseason has started.  Rookies reported to camp on Sunday.

Since it is only rookies, the news about the opening of camp wasn’t widespread.  It is a marked event nonetheless.

This does give rookies some time to get used to camp environment and start their work ahead of veterans who have already been through at least one camp.  The Cardinals have a number of rookies on their current roster.

Of the 90 players on the roster, 27 of them are rookies.  They include drafted players and undrafted free agents.

Among the rookies many are looking forward to seeing include the new franchise quarterback in Josh Rosen of course.  Also, running back Chase Edmonds from Fordham, center Mason Cole from Michigan, and safety Chris Campbell from Penn State.

Expect to hear a lot from receiver Christian Kirk as he is expected to be a big part of the offense this season.  The Cardinals are going to need him to step up right away with a lot of unknowns behind Larry Fitzgerald.

There are several undrafted free agents that could make a splash in camp.  They include tight end Alec Boom out of Connecticut, kicker Matt McCrane out of Kansas State, defensive end Alec James out of Wisconsin, and safety Zeke Turner out of Washington.

Rookies need to get in all the work they can as they start at a new level of football.  Some of these guys could potentially not even last a week or so as camp gets going and the team continues to evaluate needs.

These next two weeks will be their time to shine and show what they can do.  If they could all stay healthy, and that goes for veterans too, that would be fantasic.
