Devin Bush, ILB, Michigan

One thing that the 2019 draft doesn’t have is depth at the inside linebacker position. LSU product Devin White turned heads at the combine and has the tape to be a top ten pick, yet outside of White, there are very few sure things at linebacker.

The ‘other’ Devin can change that, could be accessible to the Cardinals as his 5-11 height might scare some teams off from investing a first-round pick in him. Despite the size, he does check most boxes in what teams look for in a modern NFL linebacker, as his game combines the athleticism that defensive backs dream of with sideline to sideline range.

At the NFL Combine, Bush showed the world that he is a physical freak of nature, as he recorded a 4.43 40-yard-dash, 40.5-inch vertical jump, 124-inch broad jump, and 6.93 three-cone-drill, all top five for linebackers.

Bush projects as a weak-side linebacker in the NFL, due to his size restrictions and ability to cover ground at a quick rate. While it’s fair to doubt his fit in the Cardinals 3-4 defense that should prioritize size and strength, his instincts, athleticism, and play strength could make him an intriguing option if he does slip to the second.
