Denver Broncos

Why would they make the trade? After trading for 34-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco, the Broncos future at the position continues to look as grim as ever. Since Peyton Manning hung up his cleats in 2015, the Broncos have failed to find a long-term option at quarterback and continue to struggle to do so.

Cue Josh Rosen, a quarterback that could sit behind Flacco as his game develops in the Mile High City. Rosen would be the Broncos best quarterbacking prospect since arguably Jay Cutler before he was shipped off to the Bears in 2009. His cheap rookie contract would also be a blessing for the Broncos as John Elway hasn’t been shy to pay for talent in free agency.

Why wouldn’t they make the trade? Well, because they just traded for Flacco. All indications out of Denver are that they view Flacco as a guy that can take them back to the Super Bowl. While that may be a stretch, it’s feasible. They also hold the tenth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, which means they may be in range to nab a young quarterback.

What are their trade assets looking like? In the first four rounds of the ’19 draft, the Broncos hold the 10th, 41st, 72nd, and 126th picks. Potentially tradeable players Emmanuel Sanders, Chris Harris Jr. and Derek Wolfe would also all make an impact on the Cardinals.
