CeeDee Lamb would make Arizona Cardinals offense exceptional

Adding the University of Oklahoma wideout during the NFL Draft’s opening round would make the Arizona Cardinals offense unstoppable
Anyone who was looking for concrete answers out of the general manager of the Arizona Cardinals this past week must’ve been thoroughly disappointed. Most NFL observers believe that last month’s DeAndre Hopkins trade will preclude Steve Keim from taking a wide receiver with the club’s first-round pick. But when asked about that very subject this past Wednesday, Arizona’s top personnel man refused to put the kibosh on that intriguing scenario.
The thought of adding a premium wideout (Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb immediately comes to mind) to what already appears to be a formidable Cardinals offense is nothing short of mind-blowing. It’s especially startling when you consider that the organization in question has other more pressing needs. Was Keim simply playing with the media and fans by suggesting that a receiver such as Lamb could still be the Cards top choice this coming Thursday?
At the present time, head coach Kliff Kingsbury‘s “Air Raid” attack appears to be loaded with weapons. A group that consists of Kyler Murray, Larry Fitzgerald, DeAndre Hopkins and Kenyan Drake is sure to give the league’s defensive coordinators nightmares. Throwing a player like Lamb into that mix would give Arizona a unit that would be almost impossible to stop.
Many draft experts feel that a blue-chip offensive tackle or defensive stud would be a much more logical acquisition for the Cardinals. Even so, Keim has stated on many occasions that the team will take the best available prospect, regardless of position. If that’s true, then an outstanding talent like Lamb may be too tempting to pass up.
Furthermore, there’s been reports that Murray has been campaigning behind the scenes for his former Sooner teammate. Back in 2018, Arizona’s starting quarterback completed 65 passes to Lamb that resulted in 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns for the school. Whether Murray can persuade Keim to bring Lamb to the desert, however, remains to be seen.
Anything Keim said during his online chat this past week has to be taken with a grain of salt. It’s the time of the offseason when all 32 general managers put their best poker faces to use in an attempt to mislead their counterparts. But whether Keim was serious or not, the vision of Lamb taking the field this coming fall in a Cards uniform is truly a wonderful thing.
