Week 5 of the NFL season has the Arizona Cardinals traveling to the East Coast for a matchup against the New York Jets. The Jets, who finished the 2019 season with a record of 7-9, will be a great test for Kyler Murray & Co. For one thing, it’s the second of back to back trips to the eastern time zone, and second, they will be playing a team who has been living on “potential” for a few seasons now.

Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, who will be entering his third season in New York, remains a story evolving. He’s also a QB the collective NFL jury is still out on. The Cardinals, who are likely coming off of a tough Week 4 game against Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers, will find a team in New York that has a ton to prove, and a quarterback needing to do the same.

It is also the third of the first five games on the schedule where the Cardinals have a more dynamic offense, and not just at quarterback. It’s also the third road game of what could be described as a tough opening to the season, seeing as they open at the San Francisco 49ers, and will also play at what could be a very good Panthers team. The bottom line is that Week 5 in Gotham needs to be a win.
