Will the Cardinals offense click?

The offense has seen its ups and downs in 2020. In weeks two and five, we saw flashes of everything the Cardinals offense could be. And it culminated with Kyler Murray taking home an NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award for his effort against New York.

Now, Murray and the Cardinals face a defense on pace to give up 576 points, having already allowed 180 heading into week six. A defense who gave up 34 points to the New York Giants, who averaged 11.75 points per game heading into last week’s matchup.

While the Cardinals offense struggled at times and rank an average 16th in scoring offense with 25.6 points per game, last week’s tilt against the Jets looked like the ultimate turning point. At least in the passing attack.

Murray tossed for 380 passing yards and ran for another 33 while DeAndre Hopkins put on a clinic, hauling in 6 catches for 131 yards and a touchdown for an average of 21.83 yards per reception. Receivers Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald came on strong, logging nine combined receptions for 113 yards.

If the Cardinals played this well against the Jets 30th-ranked defense, conventional wisdom states they should have no problem against the Cowboys 32nd-ranked defense. But given the offense’s ups and downs, the question remains if they can carry the offensive momentum for a second straight week on the national stage.
