Potential Arizona Cardinals backup quarterbacks

If the New Orleans Saints don’t bring him back, then Jameis Winston will be one of the more sought after players on the market. After years in Tampa Bay and now this year learning from Drew Brees, he’d be great to have as one Arizona Cardinals backup quarterbacks. This all hinges on how much he wants to be a backup for another year. The Saints are in some significant cap trouble, and Jameis Winston could be on the many they’re forced to part with.

Jameis Winston is another player that many fans would have that knee-jerk reaction to, and it’s understandable to a point. A 33:30 touchdown to interception ratio isn’t ideal.  But being able to rack up nearly 20,000 yards in five seasons also speaks volumes.

He’s coming off a cheap contract, so maybe it would continue here. It Never hurts to have experience on the roster, and that’s something the Cardinals didn’t have in their backups this year.
