Arizona Cardinals needs go beyond receiver, corner

The Arizona Cardinals must address wide receiver and cornerback in free agency. And if it isn’t there, then they’re top priorities in the NFL Draft. The Cardinals would flourish with a legit WR2 and a new CB1, but they have other needs all over the field.

They should be in the market for running back, tight end, guard, defensive tackle, and perhaps even kicker. Today’s post will discuss positions the Cardinals must target on offense, defense, and special teams. Not every position is a major need. And some act as simple insurance policies. So keep that in mind as you go through the slides.

Obviously, they’re off to a good start after signing J.J. Watt to a monster deal. However, Watt’s signing should be nothing more than a starting point. And his arrival will cause the Cardinals to let a few players walk. Depending on who they lose in free agency just adds to their needs. So even positions like edge may need an upgrade.

Of course, we can’t expect the Cardinals to address every position listed in the following slides in one free agency period. So what the team chooses not to target in March, look for them to fill the final gaps in the 2021 NFL Draft. But for now, let’s talk free agency, starting with the offense.
