Mike Hilton

Mike Hilton is small. But don’t underestimate his size. He’s a corner who can play like a safety. Better yet, he has also shown off his inner-ball hawk. Think of Hilton as the jack-of-all-trades corner. Perhaps one who hinges on mastering one of those trades.

In 2020, Hilton recorded 3 interceptions, 3 sacks, a forced fumble, had 2 fumble recoveries, and 51 total tackles over 12 games (6 starts). Hilton is one of those guys who can either start on the outside or in the nickel, adding to his versatility.

And he’d be a fantastic replacement for Patrick Peterson if he walks, and Dre Kirkpatrick, who was up and down in 2020. Also, pairing Hilton with Byron Murphy gives the Cardinals a solid but unspectacular pair of corners. But hey, anything is better than the revolving door at the position that became a recurring theme last season.

If Hilton is unavailable, Michael Davis would also be a fantastic fit. Davis had 14 pass deflections in 2020, 3 interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and 64 combined tackles. Davis also allowed just a 60.6 percent completion percentage and a 79.2 passer rating. Not as good as Hilton’s 60.2 rating allowed, but not a bad number.
