Position of need #2: Tight End

Right now, Maxx Williams is the top name on the roster along with Ian Bunting. And the remaining tight ends in the 2021 Free Agency Class look weak, with perhaps Jesse James and Trey Burton jumping out on Spotrac, as of March 20th.

Odds are, the Cardinals will spend an early draft pick at tight end. And don’t be surprised if they snag John Mackey Award Winner Kyle Pitts in the first round, as opposed to going with a running back. It depends on who is available, and who they feel is the bigger need.

Pitts, at 6 feet, 6 inches in height, and 239 pounds would provide a huge target for Murray if the Cardinals go that route. And mock drafts have him scattered all over the first round, from a top ten pick to a free fall to the latter portion. However, if there’s one common denominator, he ranks highly on just about every big board.

If Pitts isn’t available or if the Cardinals go with running back or cornerback in the first, they can always go with tight end in the second round. Or, if they saw someone they like, try to trade back into the third or even the fourth round of April’s draft.
