Grading the Arizona Cardinals top free agent moves

The Arizona Cardinals are doing what they have historically done during NFL free agency.

Signing older and more experienced players. Historically, it hasn’t done much for the organization, given their limited success since their last NFL Championship in 1947 (as the Chicago Cardinals). And you can add plenty of names to the list. From Alan Faneca to Emmitt Smith, Kurt Warner, Larry Foote, and a plethora of others.

However, things are a little different in 2021. For one, the Arizona Cardinals have a legitimate franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray and they also have arguably the best receiver in the NFL with DeAndre Hopkins. They also have cornerstones in Budda Baker, along with a future cornerstone in Isaiah Simmons.

This season, it appears the Cardinals are signing age and experience to fill in a few gaps that they haven’t already filled, or those the NFL Draft can’t provide.
