Kellen Mond, Texas A&M

Both Lindy’s and Athlon Sports have Kellen Mond projected to go between the fourth and fifth round. So if the Cardinals are looking for a sleeper to fill a need in the 5th round at another position of need, odds are Mond will be long gone before their next selection.

However, there is a lot to like about Mond. Like Kyler Murray, he can run the ball effectively, having scored 22 rushing touchdowns throughout his college career on 1,608 yards. Mond has experience, having started 44 career games out of 47 games played, posting a 31-13 record.

Best yet, he’s best-suited for the quick game featuring horizontal passes. Consider it a bonus if he’s in an offense that will utilize his legs. Since he has posted just modest passing numbers and had never thrown for over 3,115 yards in a single season, he can develop into a solid game manager.

Of the quarterbacks featured in today’s post, Mond looks like the longest shot to land as a Cardinal. Especially if another one of the 31 teams snag him in the fourth round, since the Cardinals do not at the time of this writing have a selection between picks 49 and 160.
