A.J. Green

I had a tough time understanding the entire Green saga, given his poor numbers in recent years. And he didn’t get any better in 2020 other than the fact he played in all 16 games. In fact, it was the worst statistical full season of Green’s career.

He logged just 47 receptions, the second-lowest of his career and lowest of his career as it pertains to playing in all 16 games. He amassed 46 catches in 2018 but appeared in just 9 games.

He also logged his lowest yards per game of his career at 32.7, the lowest yards per target of his career at 5.0, and career-lows in touchdown receptions with 2 and catch percentage at 45.2, and receiving yards with just 523.

Upgrade: No: Green can return to prominence, but at this point the Cardinals are better off waiting for an answer from Larry Fitzgerald as opposed to putting their faith in Green. Steve Keim maintained many of Green’s missed targets were uncatchable. That may hold true, but would a younger version of Green have caught those passes?
