Top 3 most tradeable Arizona Cardinals
Chase Edmonds is definitely one of the top 3 most tradeable Arizona Cardinals.
Where do we begin? Chase Edmonds has been a source of heated debate for a long time now, especially after the team let Kenyan Drake walk to join the Las Vegas “Spider Y-2 Banana’s” (aka Raiders).
While Chase Edmonds isn’t a lead back, he definitely brings some skills. Take the first Seattle game from last season, and his “not gonna die here tonight” effort was palpable through the broadcast, and one of the reasons the team won that game.
He probably is the more polished pass catcher out of the backfield, but one could argue that ex-Steeler James Conner could be above him in that category. Edmonds to date isn’t the one to consistently carry the team when there isn’t a lot of help in the scheme.
Arizona’s playbook that was designed and hyped up by the hiring of Kliff Kingsbury, has led to short route trees, read options with not a lot of motion, and failure to get the little things right (32 false starts in 2020).
Chase Edmonds should be traded to the Buffalo Bills.
Let’s get right to it- The Buffalo Bills have a much superior offense than the Cardinals do. It’s well-rounded, has depth at all skill positions, minus the running backs. The top leading rusher for the Bills was Devin Singletary with 687 yards.
The Bills also dropped a ton of screen passes last year, something that Edmonds didn’t really do himself. So what would the trade be?
Final thoughts on Edmonds
Personally, I was part of the Kenyan Drake fan-club, but that was a small smattering of Cardinals fans. Now with Edmonds and Conner in the backfield, they’re basically the same person.
Now I’m not saying make this trade now, but if (and I never wish injury on a player ever) one of the Bills running backs go down, the Cardinals could offer Edmonds. If the Bills are in a urgent spot and need a replacement, and you get that kind of a haul out of it?
Make that trade yesterday. Getting earlier picks is something Arizona hasn’t had a lot of in recent years. I also have yet to see a true dedication to the run game since Drake arrived 2019. It’s not like the rushing offense is a component of this offense anyways.
