New York Jets

You were probably expecting the New England Patriots to be on this list, right? So was I. There’s just no way I see Stephon Gilmore being traded by Bill Belichick.

So why not go within the division? The New York Jets just barely held onto safety Marcus Maye by giving him the franchise tag this year, worth roughly $10 million.

The Cardinals’ safety position opposite Budda Baker is vacant and there isn’t anyone competing for the spot on the team’s roster that has looked impressive. The Thompson Twins (not the band, Jalen and Deionte) are never healthy and they are just average players.

Adding in Maye would create more help over the top for Arizona, which is only going to let Baker roam, even more, and result in him getting more opportunities for interceptions.

It takes a little extra from the draft stock the Cardinals currently have, but it could be done. The Jets could have something nice in the Big Apple with Quinnen Williams and Chandler Jones raising hell for their defense in 2021.
