Murray has all the tools he needs to be special

What the sports world saw from the 24-year-old Kyler Murray in Tennessee was impressive. He finished the game with 309 total yards and five total touchdowns. Wow.

There were some concerns about Murray after a completely lackluster showing in the second preseason matchup of the summer against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it seems clear we can now declare that a fluke.

Signs were encouraging from the start, with the game’s first pass going to DeAndre Hopkins for a 38-yard gain. He continued to sling it and distributed the ball well to a talented receiving group. Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and Rondale Moore all finished with more than 50 receiving yards, and Hopkins and Kirk finished with two touchdowns apiece.

A particularly impressive play saw Murray scrambling horizontally for over 40 yards, making multiple Titans defensive players miss, hitting a step back to shake the linebacker in front of him, and completing a pass to Moore for a first down. Watch the highlights. Guaranteed you won’t be disappointed.

Murray faces a lot of expectations to take a third-year leap similar to that of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in the 2020 season, and if the Tennessee game is any indication, he might very well accomplish that.
