Arizona’s passing attack

This was a favorable matchup for the Cardinals last week against the Tennessee Titans. And while the Vikings allowed just 217 passing yards against the Bengals in Week 1, the Bengals won the game on the ground given the team’s meager rushing defense.

However, the pass defense was not as stellar as their 217 yards given up indicates. The overall pass defense gave up a quarterback rating of 128.8, 13.1 yards per reception, 11.1 adjusted yards per attempt, and 9.7 yards per attempt. That said, the Vikings ranked between 26th and 28th in the league in all of the above categories.

Given how Kyler Murray picked apart the Titans’ defense in Week 1, with DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk leading the charge in the passing game, it may be another long day for the Vikings, as it’s clear their defense remains in transition.

Look for the Cardinals to build upon last week’s historic performance through the air. But given the Vikings’ meager numbers defending the run, the Cardinals’ offense could have a field day.
