The Arizona Cardinals escaped Sunday with a win on a missed field goal by the Minnesota Vikings.

The Week 2 matchup of the Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings was one of the most back-and-forth, entertaining games of the young 2021 season. Eight lead changes kept fans of both teams on their seats throughout.

The Cardinals got hit in the mouth early with a 64-yard bomb to K.J. Osborn that went to the house due to blown coverage from Byron Murphy. Playing from behind, Arizona struggled defensively through the first half, but the offense caught up and eventually put up enough points to leave the field with a win.

Kyler Murray was special at times, finishing with over 400 yards passing, but a couple of mistakes make it clear that he is still a young player. Defensively, the Cards did not seem ready for a running back like Dalvin Cook, and that unpreparedness almost cost them the game.

There should be many lessons to learn from this game for an Arizona Cardinals team that needs to make the playoffs this season. But like they say, it is easier to learn from close wins than close losses.
