After getting an extra week of rest, the Arizona Cardinals face off with a former crosstown rival in the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

For decades, the Arizona Cardinals and Chicago Bears battled for popularity in the City of Chicago, with the Bears winning the popularity contest. It forced the Cardinals out of the city and into St. Louis, where they spent nearly three decades before finding a home in Phoenix.

Meanwhile, the Bears have become one of Chicago’s many hearts and souls. They have won nine NFL Championships compared to the Cardinals’ sole NFL Championship in 1947. Two if you consider them to have won the 1925 NFL Championship, though controversy surrounds it to this day, with one camp saying the championship belongs to the former Pottsville Maroons.

Fast-forward to 2021, and things have changed. The Cardinals, at the time of this writing, boast the best record in football at 9-2. Chicago struggling to make ends meet after escaping Detroit with a win, improving their record to 4-7.

The Bears’ playoff chances will drain in Week 13 with a loss to Arizona. And a Cardinals win will continue to strengthen their iron grip on the NFC’s top playoff seed. What will happen in Week 13? Here are three bold predictions.
