Keim pulled off a fantastic trade back in October when he acquired tight end Zach Ertz from the Philadelphia Eagles. Keeping the 3-time Pro Bowler in town could prove to be a lot more difficult.
Many observers believed that Ertz would be a sensational fit for the Cardinals scoring attack and that assessment was correct. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder has given quarterback Kyler Murray a top-notch option in the middle of the field, flashing reliable hands and an ability to rack up yards after the catch.
Ertz has impressed thus far during his stint in the desert, so Keim may have to outbid some organizations for the free agent’s services. The 31-year-old has filled what was once a giant void in the Cards offensive scheme, and it would be a crying shame to see him leave next spring.
