Cardinals pass rush vs. Carson Wentz

Perhaps the Cardinals’ most favorable matchup for the entire game; Carson Wentz has been so-so this season. And he’s coming off a game against the New England Patriots in which he threw for just 57 yards, completing 5-of-12 passes. Wentz has had his moments, but he has rarely been in sync with his receivers and tight ends.

The Cardinals boast one of the league’s best pass rush units, and they can overwhelm Wentz and the Colts’ passing game to the point it forces them to go one-dimensional and rely solely on Taylor. And while the Cardinals have struggled to stop the run in 2021, shutting down Wentz will allow them to throw seven or eight defenders in the box to focus on Taylor.

Look for Wentz to struggle against a Cardinals’ pass rush that has bullied quarterbacks in nearly every game in 2021. And to compound things, Wentz’s struggles may lead to the Cardinals stepping up and stopping Taylor.
