Cardinals’ defensive backs v. Colts receivers

Michael Pittman has 68 receptions on the season. No other Colt has more than 36 receptions. The Colts also have among the lowest completion rates of any team in football at 62.5 percent.

At the same time, the Cardinals have boasted among the stingiest defensive backs in football. Sure, they were off last week against Detroit, but every team has their bad games.

As with the favorable matchup shown following the first slide, the talent among the Cardinals’ defensive backs will further stagnate Wentz’s ability to throw the ball.

Unfortunately, they will be without Robert Alford for this contest. So the buck stops with Marco Wilson to line up opposite Byron Murphy, who has throughout 2021 allowed just an 82.3 passer rating and a 63.4 percent completion rate. If Wilson can step up and continue to improve, this matchup will become even more favorable.
